In a gruesome incident, a 23-year-old man in Delhi, identified as Ankit Saxena, was killed in the national capital on Thursday for being in a relationship with a Muslim girl.
Ankit, a photographer, was in relationship with a Muslim girl, Shehzadi, when he was on his way to meet her.
Shehzadi was quoted by India Today as saying, “I was going to meet Ankit when I was informed that my family has slit his throat. My own family is involved in this. My uncle has carried out the murder. Now I am scared of returning home.”

Police have arrested the girl’s mother, father and uncle for the murder. The cops are also looking for Shehzadi’s underage brother, who too was believed to have been a part of the public murder of Ankit.
Ankit and Shehzadi were reporting dating each other for three years against the wishes of the girl’s family. He was attacked by Shehzadi’s father, uncle and brother on Thursday night before his throat was slit with a knife. The road was full of blood where the he was killed, reported NDTV.
Ankit’s father, Yashpal Saxena, said that Ankit’s mother too was attacked adding that his son died instantly. The mother has now demanded hanging for her son’s killers.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vijay Singh was quoted by The Indian Express as saying that the argument was over “Ankit Saxena’s alleged relationship with a 20-year-old woman from the minority community.”
There was tension in Raghubir Nagar area of Delhi after Ankit’s murder. The cops have deployed a commando unit and more than two dozen policemen.
