Police have detained three suspects in connection with the alleged rape of a 22-year-old BPO woman employee in Bengaluru.
The woman was allegedly raped on Saturday night by two men, who offered her a ride in a mini-bus from a bus stop in south Bengaluru.
Police Commissioner N.S Megharikh confirmed that the incident was being probed, but he did not divulge the details. The Deputy Commissioner of police (south-east) division Police Commissioner Rohini Sepat Katoch too refused to provide details.
Sources revealed that the woman was waiting outside her workplace at a Madiwala bus stand for a ride back to her PG accommodation when two men in a tempo offered her a ride.
After the woman refused the offer, she was pulled inside the vehicle at a knife-point and driven to east Bengaluru near Domlur, where she was allegedly raped.
After the incident, the men dropped her back at the spot from where she was picked up by a friend and rushed to a private hospital. She was discharged on Monday.
Police said that the CCTV footage of major traffic junctions was being scanned to identify the vehicle and the accused.
