Actor Vivek Oberoi has issued a bizarre justification to his decision to share a meme likening his relationship with ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai to exit polls. His meme had three photos of Aishwarya with Salman Khan, himself and her husband Abhishek Bachchan. The meme shared by Vivek had termed Aishwarya’s relationship with Salman as opinion poll while declaring her marriage with Abhishek and birth of a child as the ‘result.’
His act had earned him widespread wrath from journalists and colleagues from the Bollywood fraternity. Sonam Kapoor had slammed him for his ‘disgusting and classless’ act.

Similar reaction followed from others on social media. The National Commission for Women too had issued a notice to the actor for degrading a woman with her little daughter.
Speaking to news agency ANI, an unrepentant Vivek said, “I don’t know why people are making a huge issue out of it. Someone had sent me a meme which made fun of me. I laughed on it&I appreciated the person for his creativity. If someone mocks at you, you should not take it seriously.”
He added, “Those in the meme don’t have a problem, but everyone else has. Kaam karne jaate hain nahi non-issues ke upar netagiri shuru kar dete hain. Didi put someone behind bars for a meme, people are I be put behind bars too. They couldn’t stop my film, now they are trying this.”

On the NCW notice, Vivek said that he was waiting for the National Commission for Women and the State Commission for Women. “I’d like to meet them, I’ll also like to explain myself because I don’t think I have done anything wrong,” he said.
Vivek’s meme allegedly degrading a woman came hours after the exit polls predicted big wins for the BJP with many questioning the authenticity of the exit polls.
