Amidst raging debate on what’s being termed as India’s own MeToo movement, a female Bollywood producer has courted a controversy by blaming the victims of men’s predatory in the film industry.
Priya Gupta, whose Twitter bio says that she has co-produced Vidya Balan-starrer Tumhari Sulu and Blackमेल, wrote on Twitter, “So many girls have done so much to make the boys Sexual Predators. They have happily obliged them in every way to become successful. After Becoming successful are now giving #MeToo gyaan to the world. It’s disgusting. Watch your karma ladies.”

Gupta is also set to produce her first film, Father’s Day, starring Emraan Hashmi. Her tweet on MeToo movement was met with incessant criticism with many expressing shock on her stand. One user wrote, “Disgraceful.” Other commented, “Make the boys predators are you serious?” But she also found a lot of support from others including singer-actor Sophie_Choudry, who wrote, “Agree! The ones who oblige make it impossible for the girls who want work on merit!! This “kuch paane ke liye kuch khona padta hai” attitude has to stop! I was once told by a well known man that I’m a “victim of my morals”. I told him at least I can look at myself with pride!”

Bollywood on Friday was rocked by fresh allegations of sexual harassment with two actors coming out in the open to allege serious sexual misconduct against filmmaker Sajid Khan. Hours after actor Saloni Chopra’s allegations became public, actor Akshay Kumar reacted strongly, announcing he had asked the producer of Housefull4 to cancel its shooting. This was followed by Sajid Khan to announce that he was stepping down as the director of Housefull4.
Sajid sister, Farah Khan, wrote that her brother had a lot to atone for if allegations against him were true. His cousin, Farhan Akhtar, too said that he was heartbroken by the revelation against Sajid.
