BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy has been a disappointed man lately after Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not accommodate him in his cabinet. His supporters were expecting him to be made India’s new Finance Minister, but the PM’s decision to not offer him any ministry left his social media army, who he addresses as PTs (Patriotic Tweeples), utterly dejected.
Swamy took to Twitter to boost the morale of his supporters as he wrote, “Thanks to PTs for your tweets expressing your sentiments on my not being made FM. Such denials make no difference to me since I believe and follow the Gita. My past experience is that such “disappointments” lead to something better later.”

His tweet provided plenty of fodder to his critics, who began to mock the veteran BJP leader. One of them was comedian Kunal Kamra, known for his anti-BJP views. Kamra wrote, “If I had my way, I would have at least made you the textile minister.” One of Swamy’s supporters came to her leader’s defence and wrote, “U need not worry! Neither will u ever have it in ur hand nor Swamyji will ever desire it bcz he is assigned to the most important task of sending ur Boss’s family behind Tihad jail. (sic)”
It was at this point, when Swamy too could not remain a silent spectator to taunts being hurled at him. He wrote, “Why are crooks and those paid to tweet by crooks so happy I am not Finance Minister?”
After Arun Jaitley requested Modi to not include him in the cabinet due to poor health, the prime minister decided to replace the former finance minister with Nirmala Sitharaman. Swamy, it seems, may have to wait a little longer to be included in the cabinet.
