Thursday night’s Bigg Boss 12 show became noteworthy for two reasons. First the show saw a first physical violence when Megha Dhade pounced on Deepak Thakur before throwing shoe and spitting at him.The second incident was involving Sreesanth, who made a big disclosure about the infamous slapgate incident during an IPL match in 2008.
In 2008, Harbhajan Singh had allegedly slapped the cricketer from Kerala after an IPL encounter between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. The India fast bowler had just signed for Preity Zinta’s Punjab team. Known for exuberance and loud reactions, Sreesanth was elated when his team beat Mumbai team. It was reported that Harbhajan had slapped him because he didn’t like Sreesanth’s reactions after Kind XI Punjab’s win. The video of Sreesanth weeping after the match had gone viral.
The former India pacer never spoke about the incident until Thursday when he finally decided to open up about the infamous incident. As part of a task, Sreesanth told fellow contestant Surbhi Rana in detail what had transpired that evening.
According to Sreesanth, he was particularly excited when Irfan Pathan got Harbhajan out on the first ball. He was mindful of how should celebrate since he had been warned to curtail his emotions. As the match resulted in Mumbai Indians’ defeat, he went to Harbhajan and said ‘tough luck skipper.’ No sooner had he finished completing his sentence, Harbhajan, according to him, hit him around his cheek with the back of his fist.
He, however, made it clear that there was no bad blood between the two as Harbhajan has since been very nice to him and his family.
Surbhi’s this interview with Sreesanth was declared as a huge breaking news in the task, enabling her to win the captaincy task. But, what Sreesanth said will certainly evoke a few reactions from cricket fans on social media.
