Former India skipper and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday took to Twitter to announce the start of a new chapter in life. This triggered intense speculations as many felt that the former India skipper had resigned from his post the president of the Indian cricket board. Such was the intensity of speculations that the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah was forced to issue a clarification.
Ganguly wrote on Twitter how the year 2022 had marked the 30th year of his association with the game of cricket. “Since then cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it has given me the support of all of you,” he wrote.
Ganguly thanked everyone who has been a part of his journey. ” I want to thank every single person who has been a part of the journey, supported me, and helped me reach where I am today,” he added.

This prompted many to conclude that Ganguly had resigned as the BCCI president. But ANI quoted Jay Shah, son of India’s Home Minister Amit Shah, as saying that Ganguly had not resigned from the BCCI.
Ganguly was previously rumoured to join the BJP ahead of the last year’s assembly polls. Last month, he hosted BJP leader Amit Shah for meal at his house.
However, Ganguly had rejected rumours of him joining the BJP saying that there was nothing new about these speculations.
