Shah Rukh tweeted, “I hate clarifications on SM. @karanjohar is technologically challenged but has other good qualities like his taste in clothes!?Just like Life, twitter doesn’t come with instructions, so mistakes r natural….& also he has fat fingers. Go easy all, Make Lov not War…it’s more fun.”

His clarification earned him instant plaudits from social media users many of whom called him big-hearted person. Salman Nizami of the Congress wrote, “Karan has fat fingers, Shahrukh has big heart. The End. #ShameOnKaranJohar.”

User Viraaj Singh wrote, “Everyone has a heart, but not everyone is large-hearted. Large-hearted is our King.”

However, not everyone appeared forgiving. Many Shah Rukh fans likened Karan to a snake. User Vibhor wrote, “I love you sir. But that doesn’t change the fact that @karanjohar is a saanp (snake).” User Abdullah Ahmed Siddiqui wrote, “We’re with you … But @karanjohar is snake… Zero Vs Simmba.. remember ??”

Shah Rukh supporters had trended #ShameOnKaranJohar on Friday after some eagle-eyed Bollywood fans noticed that the filmmaker had ‘liked’ an abusive tweet targeting King Khan. This was after a Twitter user mockingly wrote while commenting on the box office collections of Akshay Kumar’s just-released Kesari. The user in question had written, “Half day colls (collections) of #kesari on Holi day (which is worse than pre Diwali day) > #ZERO full festival day collections.”

He then used an abusive term to address Shah Rukh and questioned his stardom in comparison with Akshay Kumar.”

Although, Karan had later ‘unliked’ the controversial tweet, Shah Rukh supporters had continued to target him for condoning abuses against their star.
