Remember the controversy surrounding the new entrant in the Bigg Boss house, Rohit Suchanti after former India cricketer Sreesanth mocked his sexuality? Now, former Bigg Boss contestant Arshi Khan has joined the debate by slamming Rohit for allegedly feeling ashamed on his sexual orientation.

Accused of being in a romantic relationship with a girl herself in the past, Arshi Khan on Friday said that there was nothing to feel ashamed about being a lesbian. Reacting to reports of the controversy surrounding the sexual preference of Bigg Boss 12 wild card entrant Rohit Suchanti, Arshi said that it was a shame that he felt ashamed of his sexuality.

She said, “If you are a gay, then you must feel confident about this from the bottom of your heart. There is nothing to feel ashamed about it…Now even the court has issued an order. If you are a gay and you think your sexuality is a cause for shame for you, then shame on you.

“I say shame on you because you are abusing your own personality. If I am a lesbian, then I will say it publicly that I am a lesbian. I am not (a lesbian) but if I am then it’s not an abuse. If Rohit is a gay, he should have said it openly.”

Rohit Suchanti and Bigg Boss Marathi winner Megha Dhade had recently entered the Bigg Boss house as wild card entrants. 22-year-old Rohit is a television actor and has acted in shows such as Saath Nibhaana Saathiya and Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya.

Rohit, however, had to face homophobic slurs from male contestants such as Sreesanth and Karanvir Bohra, who appeared to make fun of him while discussing his sexual orientation.

While their jokes caused a moment of laughter for other contestants, Bigg Boss 11 second runner-up Vikas Gupta had taken to Twitter to express his disgust. He had tweeted, “I am extremely upset after what I saw today on #BigBoss12 on @ColorsTV . So I wrote this ‘The Color Purple’ . Hoping it reaches the right people who read and share it ahead . It’s important that we don’t let people think it’s okay to do this #TheColourPurple #BeKind.”

Arshi Khan is awaiting the release of her second music video Ferrari, which is likely to be out on 28 October.
