Actor Shahid Kapoor has reportedly decided to take a paternity leave in the middle of September to be on the side of wife Mira Rajput and the new-born baby. Mira is currently expecting the couple’s second child with their daughter Misha turning two this month.
A source quoted by an entertainment portal said that Shahid will take a few weeks off in mid-September after he wraps up the first schedule of Arjun Reddy, to spend time with Mira, Misha and the newborn. In a big respite to Shahid, the producers of Battu Gul Meter Chalu too have decided to support Shahid to stay in Mumbai for the film’s promotions in August. “Shahid had been by their side when the film ran into trouble owing to one of its former producers. This is their way of reciprocating his dedication. The makers have decided against having city tours as part of the promotional plan,” reported Mid Day website.
Mira’s pregnancy has been a topic of great excitement for the couple’s fans and the entertainment journalists in Mumbai. Mira too has always kept her fans abreast of the goings on in her life during her pregnancy through social media, Instagram in particular.
Not too long ago, the couple had organised a baby shower function, which was attended by Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapur, half brother Ishaan Khattar and Janhvi Kapoor among others.
Meanwhile, Bhushan Kumar, who is producing both Battu Gul Meter Chalu and Arjun Reddy, has fondly spoken about Shahid’s professionalism. “Shahid is a committed actor who believes in striking a balance between his personal and professional life. Being a parent is a special feeling. It is important that we make time for those closest to us. I understand Shahid’s need to be by his wife’s side at such a time,” Mid Day quoted him as saying.
Mira had recently posted quite an intense photo of herself with Shahid with an emotional message, “Find someone you can hug, kiss and kick. And then don’t ever let them go .”
