Shah Rukh Khan becomes the first Indian to use Facebook’s new app-Facebook Mentions.

The actor is known to be quite a tech-savvy celebrity, who’s known to frequently post his recent pictures, videos and keep his followers and fans updated with all his latest developments on social networking sites. Keeping this in mind, Facebook chose Shah Rukh Khan as a partner to test and launch their new app in India. In United States, the app has partnered with Dwayne Johnson, more commonly known as ‘The Rock’.

Facebook Mentions app comprises of a feature called, Facebook Live which is exclusively for celebrities. It enables top celebrities to know more about their favorite superstars. Shahrukh, with this new app, on Thursday, interacted with his fans, showed shoot location, his driver, security and the inside view of his car.

Speaking about Facebook Live, its product manager Vadim Lavrusik in a blog post said, “Live is an immersive and authentic way for public figures to connect with their fans on Facebook. Among the first public figures to use Live will be Dwayne The Rock Johnson, Serena Williams, Luke Bryan, Ricardo Kaka, Ashley Tisdale, Lester Holt, Martha Stewart, and Michael Buble — keep an eye out for Live videos from these public figures and others.”

According to reports, Live will allow public figures to take fans behind the scenes, host a Q&A and share announcements in real time.
