Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, may have denied that the family wasn’t upset with Priyanka Chopra for her decision to leave Bharat. But, people close to Race 3 actor are convinced that Salman had not forgiven the Quantico star for her ‘unprofessional’ behaviour.’
This was visible when Priyanka Chopra’s mother, Madhu Chopra, and Salman came face to face at the recent fashion show hosted by Manish Malhotra. Manish, who was celebrating the completion of 30 years of his label through a couture show at Marriot Hotel in Mumbai, had invited Madhu too.
Salman and Katrina were the showstoppers of the evening. According to media reports, Madhu, after arriving at the hotel, went backstage to greet Manish. “Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were right there prepping for their impending walk. However, the moment the superstar saw Chopra approach, he turned away and began talking to the actress. In fact, even Katrina didn’t acknowledge her presence,” said a source to entertainment website Spotboye.
Sensing the embarrassment, Manish quickly intervened and politely requested Madhu to taker her seat in the auditorium.
This came just days after Madhu was asked about the fallout of Priyanka walking out of Salman’s big project. Denying any animosity, Madhu had said, “You people (media) only make such stuff up, Salman is not upset with her.”
Salim Khan too had denied that Salman was upset with Priyanka. He had said, “It’s okay whatever happened. Priyanka is not doing Bharat, let her be. Such things happen in our industry.” But people close to Khan family said that ‘Salim sahab was just being graceful.’
“That’s Salim sahab for you. He was simply being graceful. On previous occasions too, he intervened to protect his son from any negative press. If you remember, it was Salim sahab who had moved in for damage control after Salman posted controversial tweets on rising intolerance in India. The clarification tweets posted from Salman’s timeline were posted at his behest,” one family friend told Janta Ka Reporter.
