Filmmaker Farah Khan has reacted swiftly to the allegations of serious sexual misconduct against his brother Sajid Khan, terming the development ‘heartbreaking.’ Farah, who’s also one of the renowned dance choreographer in Bollywood, said that if allegations her brother are true, then he had ‘a lot to atone for.’
Taking to Twitter, Farah wrote, “This is a heartbreaking time for my family.We have to work through some very difficult issues. If my brother has behaved in this manner he has a lot to atone for.I don’t in any way endorse this behavior and Stand in solidarity with any woman who has been hurt.”

Her response chimed well with her followers, most of whom praised her for taking a stand against her own brother. One fan wrote, “I really like and appreciate your courage.. I takes so much of courage to go against your loved ones and family members in public discourse.. salute for that.. but make sure a fair investigation take place to the caste & justice and truth may prevail.” Another wrote, “It takes a lot of courage to speak up against your own brother on public forum. Hats off to you for taking a stand on this issue of sexual harrassment by #SajidKhan.”
Farah’s response came hours after one actor, Saloni Chopra, alleged how Sajid had routinely sexually harassed and mentally tortured her. This led to Askahy Kumar issuing a strong statement, asking the producer of Housefull 4 to cancel the film’s shooting. Sajid, who was the director of the film, too had issued a statement saying he was stepping down as the director of the film.
Sajid’s cousin, Farhan Akhtar, too had reacted strongly stating that the revelation had left him ‘heartbroken’ and shocked.’ Farhan had tweeted, “I cannot adequately stress how shocked, disappointed and heartbroken I am to read the stories about Sajid’s behaviour. I don’t know how but he will have to find a way to atone for his alleged actions.”

Sajid and Farah are children of Maneka Irani, whose sister Honey Irani is the mother of Farhan and Zoya Akhtar.
