Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi has lashed out at an anchor working for ABP News TV after he used disparaging remarks about RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. Taking a dim view of the journalist addressing Lalu Prasad Yadav as Lalua, Rabri Devi questioned the ABP News anchor’s upbringing.

She tweeted, “He will also be addressing his father and mother like this affectionately. Poor chap may have received this upbringing from his parents. What’s his fault?”

Rabri Devi was reacting to a tweet posted by AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, who too had expressed his anguish over the Lalua remarks. Singh had written on Twitter, “Mr journalist addressed (Lalu Prasad Yadav) as Lalua and supporters got angry. The journalist said that he used the term with affection. Dear Mr journalist, do not ever make a mistake of using the term Modia with affection. You know what the consequences will be. Do you understand what I am trying to say?”

Other senior RJD leaders too slammed ABP anchor Anurag Muskan for showing disrespect to their leader. They blamed the journalist’s casteist mentality behind using the slur.

ABP news channel was in Munger recently to hold a debate show on the ongoing Lok Sabha polls with local politicians and members of audience. However, things turned chaotic after RJD supporters reacted angrily to Muskan’s remarks, addressing Yadav as Lalua.

Faced with widespread condemnation, Muskan had expressed his regrets for his comments.
