Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali releases a ghazal-based song featuring Naseeruddin Shah

Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali recently released his song, Dil dharakne ka sabab starring veteran actor, Naseeruddin Shah. The song is taken from Ali’s new album, Muh dikhai (2015).

The song is an ode by a forlorn lover to his beloved and is based on a popular Nasir Kazmi ghazal. Naseeruddin is seen playing a piano in the video while Shafqat Amanat Ali sings the serene musical track.

Speaking about the song, which has previously been sung by Madam Noor Jehan and Pankaj Udhas, the 50-year-old singer, Shafqat Amanat Ali said that in the current scenario, contemporary music pulls a person towards itself but he has been brought up differently.

He added, “I do not shy away from contemporary music, but I implement most of my learning through the independent projects I work on.”

Shafqat Amanat Ali, who gave his voice to a number of Bollywood songs including Allah Waariyan (Yaariyan),  Manchala (Hasee toh phasee) has won numerous Filmfare and Zee Cine awards.
