Weeks after Tanushree dutta first renewed her allegations of sexual harassment, the Mumbai Police booked veteran actor Nana Patekar, choreographer Ganesh Acharya, producer Samee Siddiqui and filmmaker Rakesh Sarang in the case.

Tanushree had alleged that she was sexually harassed on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss in 2008 by Nana Patekar and others. A video had recently surfaced that appeared to corroborate her claims. In the video, goons were seen attacking her car while she sat inside it with her parents.

Following her complaint, a case was registered at Oshiwara Police Station against Patekar, choreographer Ganesh Acharya, producer Samee Siddhiqui and director of the movie, Rakesh Sarang.

“We have registered a case against Patekar and others under section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman)of IPC,” Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region) Manojkumar Sharma told news agency PTI.

As of now no arrest has been made so far, he said. “We are investigating the case and enquiries are on with this regard,” he said.

Tanushree had reportedly approached the cops at the Oshiwara Police Station in burqa on Wednesday evening to record her statement regarding the case.

Tanushree’s allegations led to the start of what’s now being billed as India’s own MeToo movement, which has exploded on social media. Among those accused of sexual violence are comedy group AIB, actor Rajat Kapoor, former singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, filmmaker Vikas Bahl, author Chetan Bhagat actor Alok Nath singer Kailash Kher, socialite Suhel Seth and Union Minister MJ Akbar.
