A video of NCP MP Madhukar Kukade dancing at a school function with girl students to popular track aankh maarey from Simmba starring Sara Ali Khan and Ranveer Singh has gone viral on social media.
In the video, Kukade, is seen flaunting his dancing skills at the dance number with female students. Soon, he is joined by girl students on the stage even as the crowd cheer the newly elected parliamentarian. The video, after news agency ANI posted it on Twitter, has gone viral since then.
Kukade was elected to the Lok Sabha on the NCP ticket during the last year’s bypolls in Bhandara-Gondiya constituency in Maharashtra. His candidature was supported by the Congress. The seat had fallen vacant after the sitting BJP MP Nana Patole resigned to join the Congress.
Social media users gave their approval to Kukade’s act as one user wrote, “A little bit of music, dance and aerobics good for everybody.” Another user wrote, “Nice gesture from the MP. He is also a human.”
However, not everyone appeared impressed with the school authorities’ decision to ask their students to dance on aankh marey song. One user wrote, “Which school plays aankh marey song?” “School functions should not have songs such as this,” commented another user.

On Sunday, an undergraduate student in Maharashtra’s Amravati district had alleged that state Education Minister Vinod Tawde ordered his arrest when he was recording a conversation between him and a fellow student, a charge denied by the minister.
Student Yuvraj Dabad, according to PTI, had also claimed that following the alleged order, the local police detained him for a couple of hours, seized his smartphone and returned it after the video-recording was deleted from it.
