Former IPL chairman and cricket administrator Lalit Modi has taken to social media to inform that his wife Minal had died of cancer.
Taking to Instagram, Modi, currently in London, wrote, “My Love My Life My Soulmate. You are finally at Peace and I am sure you will be watching over us. You have been my life and my journey and now I must continue as promised to you in ensuring our children are protected and nurtured and loved and I know you will always be there. But my love it will be tough. But you have taught us to be tough. I love you with all my heart.”
His subsequent post had a brief caption that read, “Rest in peace now my jaan.”
Minal had suffered from cancer, on and off, for 20 out of the couple’s 27 years of wedding. The couple had got married in October 1991. This was Minal’s second marriage. Her daughter from the first marriage with Jack Sagrani, Karima, is married to Gaurav, son of Monica and Vivek Burman of the Dabur group. Her children from Modi are Ruchir and Aliya Modi.
