Karnataka cop shames India, stops Pakistani citizen from chanting Pakistan Zindabad in World Cup match against Australia

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar are being urged to take action against a cop from the state police, who was seen stopping a Pakistani citizen from chanting Pakistan Zindabad during a World Cup match between Pakistan and Australia in Bengaluru on Friday.

The video of a cop threatening to take action against a Pakistani fan for chanting Pakistan Zindabad (Long live Pakistan) has gone viral on social media evoking angry reactions from netizens. Many Indians have called for a strict action against the cop, seen in the video.

In the video, a man wearing a Pakistani T-shirt could be seen engaged in a heated argument with a cop objecting to the fact he was being stopped from cheering his team in the match.

The could be heard saying that whilst the Pakistani fan could say Bharat Mata Ki Jai, he couldn’t chat Pakistan Zindabad even though the fan in question was a Pakistani national.

“I can’t say Pakistan Zindabad?” asks the fan, who has travelled from Pakistan to support his team.

The cop replies, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai fine but not Pakistan Zindabad.” This was after the fan pointed out that people seated next to him were chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai.

This prompts the fan to start filming the conversation as he finds the whole development unbelievable.

The fan found plenty of support from Indian social media users, who urged Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar to act against the cop.







The Indian cricket board is run by BJP leader Amit Shah’s son, Jay Shah, whose only credential is that he is the heir apparent of his powerful politician father. Karnataka was previously governed by Hindutva party, the BJP, which was defeated by the secular Congress party in the last assembly elections.
