Inconsolable Alia Bhatt in rare public display of love during Ranbir Kapoor’s heart-wrenching acceptance speech at Zee Cine Awards

Ranbir Kapoor’s heart-wrenching speech while accepting the Best Actor award during this year’s Zee Cine Awards left his rumoured girlfriend Alia Bhatt in tears. Alia was inconsolable as Ranbir dedicated his award to Dad Rishi Kapoor and mother Neetu Singh.

Ranbir Kapoor“I would like to dedicate this award to two very special people in my life starting with my father,” said Ranbir as his tone began to turn sombre and emotional. Ranbir continued, “He (Rishi Kapoor) is going through a little bit of rough patch in his life.” It was at this juncture when camera turned towards Alia Bhatt, who was seen wiping her tears off. Perhaps, she was aware of Ranbir’s emotional condition because of Rishi Kapoor’s health even before the awards ceremony began.

Ranbir went on to pour his heart out revealing how his father was feeling incredibly insecure because of his undisclosed illness. He said, “I’ve often heard when you come to some kind of crossroads in life, you can really tell who you are as a person. He speaks to me about his insecurity, that when he gets back, will he get to work in the movies, will people offer him films, will he be able to act in movies and that kind of inspiration and passion and madness is what brings all this to perspective.”

He also thanked his mother for the kind of ‘love, care and support’ he has been receiving from her. He said, “It’s (her love) unconditional, it’s beautiful and it’s selfless. And that’s the most beautiful thing in life, nothing else.

After Ranbir ended his emotional speech, the show’s host Vicky Kaushal and Kartik Aryan insisted him and Alia to teach them a few romantic dance steps. While Vicky and Kartik spoke to each other, Alia was once again seen attending to Ranbir and seemingly wiping his tears. While announcing Ranbir’s name for the award, Alia had described him as her ‘all-time favourite.’

While Ranbir Kapoor went on to win the Best Actor award for his role in Sanju, Alia won the won the same award in the female category for Raazi.

Both Ranbir and Alia will be seen together in their upcoming film Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, shceduled to be released in December this year.
