Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Wednesday said that his mother Aruna Bhatia had passed away ‘peacefully.’ The BellBottom actor’s mother was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai.
Akshay wrote, “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world.”
He added, “I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti.”

Akshay had earlier thanked his well-wishers for their prayers as his mother battled for her life. He had written, “Touched beyond words at your concern for my mom’s health. This is a very tough hour for me and my family. Every single prayer of yours would greatly help.”

Akshay was shooting for his next film Cinderella in the United Kingdom when he learnt about his mother’s health. He had flown back to India to be with his mother after she was admitrted to hospital.
