Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was one of the big names to have been dropped from the Narendra Modi cabinet on Wednesday. Prasad, who held both the Information and Technology and Law ministries, stunned everyone with his resignation.
Although, several other names had to leave the cabinet to make ways for new entrants such as Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sarbananda Sonowal, Anurag Thakur and others, Prasad’s ouster from the cabinet came as a huge shock.
Prasad was lately engaged in a bitter row with Twitter after he accused the social media giant of not adhering to the new IT Act. Days later, Prasad alleged that Twitter had locked him out of his account for alleged copyright violations.
No sooner did the news of Prasad’s exit from the Modi cabinet become official, Twitter exploded with jokes and memes with an overwhelming majority of social media users blamed the social media platform for having ensured the minister’s sacking.
Poor old Ravi Shankar Prasad. First he got locked out of his Twitter account. Now he has got locked out of his office.
