Gujarat Titans were crowned the new champions of IPL after the Hardik Pandya-led side comfortably defeated Rajasthan Royals in a one-sided final. The match was played before more than 100,000 cricket fans in Ahmedabad.

Batting first, Rajasthan Royals were restricted to 130-9 in 20 overs Hardik Pandya leading from the front to claim three wickets. Sai Kishore picked up two wickets.
Jos Buttler, the highest scorer in the competition with more than 800 runs to his credit, was out for 39.
Gujarat Titans achieved the target by losing just three wickets with 11 balls to spare. Shubman Gill, who hit the winnign run with a huge six, remained unbeaten at 45 from 42 balls.
Gujarat Titans were the best team of IPL 2022 after they occupied the top position on the points table. They were playing the IPL for the first time. Also playing for the first time in IPL 2022 were Lucknow Super Giants, who also performed exceedingly well.
More than 100,000 spectators were present inside the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to cheer their local team to create history. Also present in the stadium was senior BJP leader and India’s Home Minister Amit Shah. Shah’s son, Jay Shah, is the Secretary of the Indian cricket board.
