In a first, Bollywood megastar Salman Khan will be India’s goodwill ambassador to Rio Olympics


Bollywood actor Salman Khan will be the India’s goodwill ambassador for this year’s Rio Olympics, reported news agency ANI.

This is the first time that a Bollywood megastar has been roped in to represent the Indian contingent as a goodwill ambassador for the world’s greatest sporting extravaganza.


According to NDTV, the announcement will be made in front of sporting stars like MC Mary Kom, Sardar Singh, Ritu Rani, Deepika Kumari, Archery,Apurvi Chandela, Manika Batra.

Mary Kom won the Olympic Bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympics while the likes of Sardar Singh and Ritu Rani, captains of the Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams respectively, have qualified for the Rio Olympics.
