Bollywood diva and Padmaavat actor Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are officially now husband and wife as the couple got married in Italy’s Lake Como in traditional Konkani style ceremony. Social media platforms have been inundated with photos and snippet videos from the picturesque locations of the popular European destination.
Deepika Padukone’s golfer sister, Anisha Padukone, changed her Instagram profile bio to ‘#ladkiwale (bride’s family)’ for her sister’s wedding.
Meanwhile, millions of Deepika’s fans on social media have launched a unique challenge, asking Twitterati to replace their profile pics with that of their favourite photos of the Bollywood actress. Using the hashtag #DPismyDP, the fans encouraged everyone to celebrate Deepika’s wedding in style.
Within minutes, #DPismyDP became a top Twitter trend as fans began to replace their profile photos with that of Deepika’s photo. One fan wrote, “#DPismyDP Forever n always❤ Can’t wait to see uh as a bride.” Another commented, “wish you to be the most happiest person in the entire world!! congratulations!! #DPismyDP .” “The Secret To Have A Perfect Picture Is To Wear Beautiful Smile,” wrote another user.
However, there were some fans who advised them not to focus only on Deepika and pay some attention to Ranveer too. One fan wrote, “Guys it’s their wedding..Both are getting married then why are you using #DPismyDP ? Please do use #DeepVeerKiShaadi.” Another fan agreed, “What is this #DPismyDP? Are we not supposed to celebrate both of them?”
Both Deepika and Ranveer arrived in Italy over the weekend with their family members. They got engaged soon after arriving in the country. A news item by PTI said that Deepika wore a Sabyasachi creation for the mehndi ceremony. Both are expected to wear Sabyasachi couture creations for their wedding ceremonies as well.
