Shalini Talwar, the wife of rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, whose real name is Hirdesh Singh, has reportedly filed a case of domestic violence against her celebrity husband.
According to news agency ANI, Shalini filed the case at the Delhi’s Tiz Hazari Court under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. The court has issued a notice to the rapper directing him to submit his response by 28 August.
A report by Times of India said that Shalini accused her husband of inflicting physical, mental and verbal torture on her on multiple occasions. According to reports, Shalini said that Honey Singh became addicted to alcohol when he began to earn Rs. 4 crore a month from performances and music royalties.
India Today reported that the Delhi court had ‘also passed interim orders in favour of Shalini Talwar, restraining Honey Singh from disposing off his jointly owned property etc.’
“The Applicant (Wife). aged 38 years, is filing the instant petition under section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 (PWDV Act 2005) against the Respondents, seeking protection orders and other reliefs against the atrocities committed by the Respondents,” read the complaint by Shalini, according to News18 website.
Honey Singh had taken to Instagram in January to celebrate the 10th wedding anniversary when he shared a photo of himself with his wife as he wrote, “It’s our @sheenz_t Happy 10th Marriage Anniversary & @singhstamusic da birthday vi aa !!! All we need is Million blessings.”

He has, however, not issued any statement or commented on the latest development.
Honey Singh and tied the knots with Shalini on 23 January 2011. However, Shalini has alleged that her husband never publicly disclosed that he was a married man.
On the work front, Honey Singh has recently released his new music video, Sayiyan Ji, which also features actor Nusharratt Bharuccha.
