Deepika Padukone tests positive for COVID-19 after father Prakash Padukone admitted to hospital for coronavirus treatment


Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 hours after her legendary father Prakash Padukone had to be hospitalised for the coronavirus treatment in Bengaluru. According to reports, Deepika has isolated herself at her home in Bengaluru.

Her mother and sister too are currently COVID-19 positive. Bollywood photographer Viral Bayani updated his Instagram post with the news on Deepika testing positive for coronavirus.

Earlier Deepika’s father Prakash Padukone had tested positive for COVID-19. Prakash Padukone, the first Indian to win the prestigious All England Championship title in 1980, had to eb hospitalised after his condition did not improve during the home isolation.

“Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive,” Vimal Kumar, a close friend of the legendary shuttler and director at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA), had told news agency PTI.

Deepika is married to Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh. Last week, the duo was snapped at the Mumbai Airport as they travelled to Bengaluru, Deepika’s home city.
