India’s new bowling sensation Deepak Chahar has continued to wreak havoc with his devastating attack even after achieving the most economical T20I spell against Bangladesh over the weekend. Days after his historic feat, his sister has taken to social media to write an emotional post admitting that her brother’s performance was still giving her ‘goosebumps.’
Malti Chahar wrote on Instagram, “So so so so so proud of you??? To the hat-trick and best figure 3.2-0-7-6 in international t20???OMG..I still have goosebumps ?? @deepak_chahar9 love you brother ?? more power to you.”
Her post evoked overwhelming reactions from Deepak’s fans as one wrote, “A wonderful prospect for India in future.” “That’s why he’s your brother,” commented another fan. One fan wrote, “Powerful people comes from powerful places.” This was in reference to Deepak’s IPL team Chennai Super Kings.
Days after finishing with a spell of 6-7 in four overs including a hat-trick, Deepak had claimed another hat-trick against Vidarbha while playing for Rajasthan in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy competition.
Deepak dismissed Vidarbha’s Darshan Nalkande, Shrikant Wagh and Akshay Wadkar with his menacing bowling as he claimed his second hat-trick in three days. He ended his spell of four overs with 4/18 with his performance immensely helping his Rajasthan team
in restricting Vidarbha to 99/9 in a 13 over-match. Rajasthan had scored 105-8, but Vidarbha won the match by one run under VJD Method.
Not many would know that Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy has been incredibly lucky competition for Deepak. In 2018, Deepak had announced his arrival in professional cricket with 5-15 spell against Karnataka. His devastating spell had guided Rajasthan to beat Karnataka by 22 runs.
His impressive run in the competition was responsible for his selection in Chennai Super Kings IPL team.
On Sunday, Deepak had become the most economical bowler in the history of T20 International game after he finished with took six wickets by conceding just 7 runs. Previously, the most economical spell in a T20 International match was held by Sri Lanka’s Ajantha Mendis.
Deepak had also become the first Indian man to claim a hat-trick in a T20 International match. Reacting to his historic feat later, Deepak had said that he wasn’t aware of his hat-trick feat until his teammates reminded that he had created history.
