A video of Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate calling Sambit Patra of the BJP naali ka keeda (gutter worm) during a LIVE TV debate has gone viral on social media platforms. Angered by Shrinate’s disparaging remarks, Patra took to Twitter to share the video with a hashtag ‘Gali Wali Madam.’
Shrinate had called Patra gutter worm during a TV debate on Aaj Tak conducted by Anjana Om Kashyap after the BJP spokesperson addressed her as ‘illiterate.’. Shrinate told Patra, “Tum do kaudi ke naali ke keede ho. Are chup ho ja naali ke keede, kya bol rahe ho? (You are a worthless gutter worm. Now shut up you gutter worm. What are you talking about!).”

Stunned by Shrinate’s ‘gutter worm’ jibe for the BJP spokesperson, Anjana said, “What is this Supriya ji?”
Patra accused Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi of receiving money from China.
Sharing the video, Patra tweeted, “Friends, you must watch this video and think just how low some people can stoop to. What upbringing! It pains.”

The video shared by Patra also had a clip from his earlier appearance on News18 India TV channel where he was once again pitted against Shrinate. The Congress spokesperson was heard admonishing Patra once again as she told him, “Chhichhore aadmi tameez se baat akro. (You cheap person, show some decency while speaking).”
The show on New18 India was being moderated by Amish Devgan where the two spokespersons locked horns.
While Shrinate has not responded to Patra’s ‘Gali Wali Madam’ jibe, she’s been sharing tweets from party colleagues, who repeated the gutter worm jibe for the BJP spokesperson. She also shared a tweet from fellow Congress spokesperson Ragini Nayak, who wrote, “Gali Wali Madam rocks.’
