Twitter on Saturday witnessed a full-blown spat between journalist Ajit Anjum and Zee News anchor Sudhir Chaudhary over a video interview. Incensed by Chaudhary’s disparaging remarks, Anjum took a potshot at the controversial Zee News anchor by reminding him about ‘Rs. 100 crore extortion video.’

The Twitter spat was triggered by a video interview conducted by Anjum for his YouTube channel. In his interview, Anjum had expressed his shock to his guest, who said that the abrogation of Article 370 had helped India take control of Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan. The elderly guest from Uttar Pradesh had also expressed his satisfaction over the rising prices of petroleum products and inflation in general because of his love for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The man had also informed Anjum that he was a refular viewer of Zee News.

Sharing the video of his interview, Anjum tweeted in Hindi, “‘Kashmir became part of Indiabecause of the abrogation of Article 370. This was part of Pakistan earlier.’ Listen to the enlightening talk of this die-hard fan of Modi and Zee News viewer. The rising inflation doesn’t mean anything to him even if the price of diesel reaches Rs. 200 per litre. Everything is acceptable (to him) for the sake of Modi ji.”

Reacting to the video, Sudhir Chaudhary wrote, “Whosoever this person is in the guise of a journalist. He tried to put his words into the mouth of an elderly villager. He made fun of him when he (Anjum) didn’t succeed. Then he became exasperated. These people consider villagers illiterate and fools. But the reality is completely opposite. These jobless journalists are suffering from jealousy.”

Anjum replied reminding Chaudhary about his unpleasant past when the Zee News anchor had to face public humiliation in a case related to alleged blackmailing. Anjum wrote, “Chaudhary ji, I am the same person in whose office you were kicked out of the editors’ body in the extortion of Rs. 100 crore case. You were shamelessly defending yourself despite everything being captured on camera. You had gone to jail in the extortion case not this ‘jobless journalist’.”

Chaudhary has not responded to Anjum for his latest tweet.
