Kapil Sharma has announced that he had successfully sorted out his differences with Akshay Kumar after several media reports claimed that the latter had refused to appear on The Kapil Sharma Show. According to media reports, Akshay was unhappy with Sony TV going ahead with the broadcast of Kapil’s jokes about the former’s interview with Prime Minister Narendra Modi just before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Kapil’s dig in that episode had left Archana Puran Singh and Sara Ali Khan in splits.

Amidst mounting speculations over whether Akshay will indeed appear on The Kapil Sharma Show, the show’s host took to Twitter to issue a clarification. Kapil tweeted, “Dear friends, was reading all the news in media about me n Akshay paji, I have jus spoke to paji n sorted all this, it was jus a miss communication, all is well n very soon we r meeting to shoot Bachhan pandey episode. He is my big bro n can never be annoyed with me, thank you.”

As reported by Janta Ka Reporter, Akshay was left red-faced by Kapil’s cheeky reference to the controversial interview of Modi by the Khiladi actor just before the Lok Sabha polls in 2019. Many had criticised the actor for agreeing to be a part of what was widely viewed as a PR exercise.

Akshay and Sara had appeared on the Sony TV show to promote their film Atrangi Re. During the show, Akshay had decided to take a dig at Kapil as he asked, “Just tell me one thing. Whenever this man (Kapil Sharma) wants to ask his guest something, he says this is being asked by Archana (Puran Singh)?”

Known for his wit, Kapil Sharma too had decided to embarrass Akshay Kumar as he reminded him of his 2019 interview with Narendra Modi. Kapil had said, “I saw one of your interviews. I don’t want to name the politician but he was a very big leader.”

While netizens loved Kapil’s jibe with many calling it an act of revenge on behalf of the whole country, Akshay reportedly was left seething by the video. Quoting a source, Hindustan Times had reported, “Akshay took all of Kapil’s jokes head-on but the dig on the PM interview seemed to mock the dignity of such a high office. So Akshay requested the channel to not air that question. It is a right of the guests to make such a request as the show is not live. The channel agreed, but the said scene was leaked on the internet soon after. It was a breach of trust on the part of someone in Kapil’s team, and Akshay sought a clarification before he appears on the show again.”

Now that Kapil has clarified, hopefully, fans would see Akshay on the popular comedy show to promote his upcoming film.
