Controversial Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has once again made a desperate attempt to provoke Alia Bhatt by expressing her disgust over comparison with the Gully Boy actress. Her latest act of provocation was after an entertainment website carried out a poll asking Bollywood fans to vote for the best performance by a female actor in 2019 so far. Kangana polled 37% votes for her performance in Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, while Alia was close behind with 33% votes.

Responding to Bollywoodlife website, Kangana said that she was disgusted by being compared with Alia, who she said was a mediocre actress. She said, “I am embarrassed…What is there to beat in Gully Boy performance ….same snappy muh phat girl… Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media have taken filmy kids love too far. Stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised.”

When Alia was told about Kangana’s rude comments about her, the young actress stunned everyone by reacting with incredible calmness and composure. She told the Bollywood Hungama website, “I respect Kangana’s work a lot and I respect her opinion. If she feels a particular way she must have reason to feel that way. I would rather remember how much she had praised me after watching Raazi. And I’d just like to focus on my work. Maybe she will appreciate me again if I work hard enough.”

This is not the first time that Kangana has made attempts to rub Alia up the wrong way for no fault of hers. Kangana had recently hit out at Alia and her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor for being apolitical and not voicing their opinions on politics and social issues.

Reacting to her attack, Alia had shown extraordinary maturity when she had told reporters, “Listen I definitely don’t have that ability to speak as candidly as Kangana does. And I really really respect her for that. And May be in a way she is right that some time we do hold back because we don’t want or we may feel that why speak unnecessarily. My Dad always says that there are already so many opinions in the world. The world can do with one less opinion. I have an opinion but I will keep it to myself. But, kudos to her because she genuinely speaks really well.”

Kangana began to attack Alia after she felt that the Raazi actress did not support her in promoting her film Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, which failed to impress fans at the box office. Her frustration emanated from the fact that she had praised Alia’s work in Raazi, which was a huge success commercially as well as amongst critics.

Recently, Alia said that she will apologise to Kangana if the latter felt that she may have upset her unintentionally. “If I have, I will apologise to her on a personal level,” Alia had said.

Alia’s response on all occasions has truly shown that while she may not have as much experience as Kangana has in the Hindi film industry, she’s definitely more mature than the latter.

Alia is currently busy promoting her next film Kalank, which also has Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt among others.
