Bollywood Akshay Kumar’s Singh is Bliing put up a “spectacular” show at the box office with opening day collections amounting to Rs 20.67 crores.

The opening day collections out-dazzled Akshay’s other 2015 releases like Gabbar is Back (Rs 13.05 crores), Baby (Rs 9.3 crores) and Brothers ( Rs 15.20 crores ) by a fair margin, to emerge as his “biggest opener”.
Akshay, who stars as Raftaar Singh in the movie, was also congratulated by his ‘happiest cheerleader’, wife Twinkle Khanna.
Balle Balle Mr Singh-A fantastic start! Now hoping I get some bling for being his happiest cheerleader #SinghIsBliing pic.twitter.com/cJ7SyQJfoJ

In terms of first day collections, Akshay and Amy Jackson’s romantic-comedy also leaves behind big 2015 performers, namely Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do, Kangana Ranaut’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Prabhu Deva’s ABCD 2. Kapil Sharma with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon too lags far behind.
Directed by Prabhu Deva, the movie also stars Lara Dutta and Kay Kay Menon in key roles. It hit the theatres on 2 October.
Meanwhile, Meghna Gulzar’s Talvar too hit screens on 2 October and has managed to score Rs 3 crores on its first day. The crime-thriller, which stars Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma, is inspired by the Arushi Talwar murder case.
