Rishi Kapoor on Friday posted an old photo of Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan promoting son Ranbir’s latest release Sanju on Twitter.
In the photo, Salman, Akshay and Saif are seen holding placards with ‘Sanju We’re with you’ written on it while actor Ajay Devgn is seen simply posing for camera. Rishi Kapoor wrote how four of the biggest names in Bollywood had been promoting his son’s latest big release since 90s, when the photo in question was first taken. He wrote, “Thank you! These people been promoting the film ever since!”

Kapoor’s throwback photo was reportedly taken soon after Sanjay Dutt was arrested under TADA in 1993 in connection with the Bombay blasts. These Bollywood stars had extended their support to Sanjay Dutt.
However, no sooner did Kapoor post his tweet, his fans on the microblogging site began to highlight the facial expression of Ajay Devgn, who looked utterly indifferent. Ajay’s expression became a favourite topic of conversation on Twitter as users started to troll him. One user asked, “Ye Ajay Devgn sir apne attitude me Kyu hai? (Why’s Ajay Devgn showing attitude?)” Another used wrote, “Ajay Devgn apne hi tashan me hain (Ajay Devgn is in his own style)” “Ajay Devgn is like – kaha in sab mein fass gaya (Where have I landed myself in)”
Rishi Kapoor was also accused of plagiarising someone else’s tweet to pass it off as his own as a user pointed out how one Sahil Sharma had first posted the same photo with an identical caption. While accusing Rishi Kapoor of plagiarism, one user wrote, “Arey at least have the courtesy to write copied, when copying someone’s tweet! Should be ashamed to plagiarize. And then these people will raise voice on piracy.”
When brought to his notice, user Sahil Sharma took it sportingly and wrote by tagging Rishi Kapoor, “Omg.. Hahaahaha @chintskap sir credits to de dete yr mujhe”
Earlier, Rishi Kapoor had said how watching his son’s performance in Sanju had made him emotional. A teary-eyed Rishi Kapoor had told Mid Day, “The way Rajkumar Hirani has presented Ranbir is the biggest Superb thing, the boy has really done well. I am so proud of him. I swear on Neetu and Ranbir, I did not think it was Ranbir, I thought it was Sanjay Dutt.”
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Sanju’s cast includes Ranbir, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Paresh Rawal and Manisha Koirala.
