Days after cricketer Suresh Raina triggered a full-blown controversy with his ‘I am also Brahmin’ remarks, Ravindra Jadeja has once again flaunted his caste identity as a ‘Rajput Boy.’ Jadeja’s ‘Rajput Boy’ tweet has evoked mixed reactions on social media.

Taking to Twitter, Jadeja wrote, “#RAJPUTBOY FOREVER. Jai hind.”

No sooner did Jadeja post the tweet, Twitterati began to react with many slamming him for promoting the caste system in Indian society. One wrote, “Imagine being a world class cricketer, and still using your caste as your whole identity.” “What is so boastful about being in anything? You are a rajput boy by chance, Indian by chance. None of them you had any control over,” commented another Twitter user.

He also found plenty of support from his fans.

Recently, Raina had courted controversy with his ‘I am also Brahmin’ remarks while taking part in commentary during a match between Lyca Kovai Kings and Salem Spartans.

Speaking during the match, Raina had said, “I think, I am also Brahmin. I have been playing since 2004 in Chennai, I love the culture… I love my teammates. I have played with Anirudha Srikanth, Badri (Subramaniam Badrinath), Bala Bhai (L Balaji)… I think you need to learn something good from there. We have a good administration, we have the license to explore ourselves. I love the culture there, and I’m lucky to be part of CSK. Hopefully, we will play more matches there.”
