Actor Siddharth calls BJP MP Tejasvi Surya ‘far more dangerous than’ terrorist Ajmal Kasab for Islamophobia during deadly pandemic

Popular actor Siddharth has called Tejasvi Surya ‘far more dangerous’ than even terrorist Ajmal Kasab after the BJP MP from Bengaluru was found to be peddling Islamophobia amidst a deadly pandemic. Surya had to face widespread condemnation after he was seen slamming Bengaluru civic body officials for hiring more than a dozen Muslims as COVID warriors.

Siddharth tweeted, “@Tejasvi_Surya is far more dangerous and just a decade older than #AjmalKasab. Save this tweet. It will unfortunately age well.”

Surya also faced flak from netizens and Congress leaders, who condemned the BJP MP for promoting Islamophobia even during a deadly pandemic. Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad lashed out at Surya by asking if the latter had any shame left. He wrote, “Have some shame @Tejasvi_Surya If you & the BJP Govt cannot help, at least don’t spread the communal poison to hide your failures. Chronology- 212 people work in the war room- Tejasvi & his gang readout 17 Muslim names. Points out if this is a list from Madrasa.”

Arshad continued, ” And brags as if you have saved the humanity – BJP SM starts propaganda blaming the entire community. By looking at your actions, don’t think your intention was to uncover any Scam but to spread your communal agenda by targeting the Muslim community.”

Rizwan added, “Thousands of frontline workers from the Muslim community – doctors to hospital staff to people from the civil society have been working round the clock, shoulder-to-shoulder with Hindus, Christians & the Sikh community. Go spread your communal bullshit elsewhere!”

Surya on Tuesday had claimed that there was a bed-for-bribe scam at the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) war room for bed allocation to COVID patients. In the viral video, widely being circulated on WhatsApp, he was seen slamming the BBMP officials for hiring 16 Muslims as COVID warriors. He had asked if the list was from a madrasa, religious schools for Muslims.

Many took to Twitter to publicly shame the BJP MP for his bigotry even during a pandemic.

As expected, Surya has not apologised for his bigotry. Many believe that Surya’s despicable action followed by the leaking of his video was a calculated move by the BJP to divert people’s attention from the Karnataka government’s poor handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
