The UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi met veteran actor and former super model Nafisa Ali, who’s been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. The shocking revelation on Nafisa Ali’s health came just weeks after actors Irrfan Khan, Sonali Bendre, and Tahira Kashyap have been diagnosed with different stages of cancer.
Taking to Instagram, Nafisa Ali posted a photo of herself with Sonia Gandhi and wrote in the caption, ” “Just met my precious friend who wished me luck & to get well from my just diagnosed stage 3 cancer. ?.”
No sooner did she post her photo with a shocking announcement, fans began to flood her timeline with ‘get well soon’ messages. One fan wrote, “Prayers and good wishes for you. May the almighty cure you of your illness. So much of positivity you generate that yes you will beat it come out stronger.. With you in your fight against cancer.” Another wrote, “Take care . You will be absolutely fine.”
Not many would know that Nafisa had unsuccessfully tried her luck in electoral politics way back in 2004, when she contested on Congress ticket against Mamata Banerjee from the south Kolkata parliamentary constituency. She quit active politics after that even though the Congress came to power at the Centre.
Nafisa Ali was crowned Miss India in 1976 and represented India in Miss International competition too. As actor, she has also worked in several popular films such as Yamla Pagla Deewana, Life in a Metro, Major Saab among others. She was last seen in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 as Sanjay Dutt’s mother.
