Former singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya too has found his named being dragged into the list of alleged sexual predators, who are being outed as part of India’s own #MeToo movement. A flight attendant took to Facebook to narrate how Abhijeet had sexually assaulted her in a pub of five-star hotel in Kolkata 20 years ago.

The alleged incident took place at Hotel Hindustan International’s famous Anticlock  nightclub. The woman said that she was sexually assaulted after she refused to dance with him. Stating that she had only gone there to convey a message from her friend, who was also a friend of the controversial singer, she wrote, “He twists my wrist, pulling me towards him and screaming in my ear, “bitch what do you think of yourself , wait till I teach you a lesson” , almost kissing and nibbling me on my left ear … I pushed him and ran to the DJ console to get him to shut the music down.”

Reacting to the allegation, Abhijeet said that he wasn’t even born 20 years ago adding that he never went to a pub in his life. Displaying his utter disdain to allegations of sexual misconduct, Abhijeet told Indian Express, “I don’t know against whom should I take action. Why should I give attention to that person? You are giving it importance not me. Most of the people who are coming out right now are dirty, ugly people. Koi mota hai koi patla hai. No one deserves (the attention). Just to grab some attention they are coming out. Most of the fat and ugly girls are blaming and I wasn’t born at that time.”

This comes just hours after another famous Bollywood artist, Alok Nath, was accused of raping and brutalising producer Vinta Nanda in the 90s. The famous sanskari artist of Indian TV and cinema had made bizarre comments when asked to react to Nanda’s serious allegations.

He told ABP News, “Kuch to log kahenge (People may say something).” Making light of Nanda’s allegations, he said, “Neither I am denying this nor do I would agree with it. It (rape) must have happened, but someone else would have done it. Well, I do not want to talk much about it as for the matter if it has come out, it will be stretched.”
