A children rights group on Saturday approached the state Lokayukta to order Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governments for the shutdown of KFC outlets. The action comes at a time when certain following lab test results indicated the presence of bacteria in KFC products linked to food poisoning.
The lokayukta has issued notices to the health ministry of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh asking them to submit a report by August 5.
The food chain giant has denied all allegations and has maintained that high levels of testing and standards are maintained in the manufacturing of all KFC food products across all outlets.
