Income tax department sleuths on Thursday raided seven places in Kolkata and Siliguri in West Bengal and seized around Rs.70 crore in cash stacked by a lottery agency.

An income tax department source said the lottery agency rented godowns to hide the money. Bundles of lottery tickets were also found at the spots.

Acting on a tip, the sleuths swooped down on godowns on Sarat Bose Road and New Alipore and close to the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport.

The Special Task Force and detective department personnel of Kolkata police assisted the income tax officials.
