Parag Desai, the owner of popular Indian tea brand Bagh Bakri, has died after being chased by stray dogs last week. The company announced his death in a social media post.
According to reports, the 49-year-old industrialist suffered from brain hemorrhage from a fall after he was chased by stray dogs.
Congress MP from Gujarat, Shaktisinh Gohil, wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Very sad news coming in. Parag Desai, Director and owner Wagh Bakri Tea passed away. He had a brain haemorrhage following a fall. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to the entire Wagh Bakri family across India.”
Desai’s tragic death left social media users seething in anger as they targeted animal rights activists, who are responsible for the growing menace of stray dogs in India.
One user wrote, “Shocked to know death of owner of Bagh Bakri tea due to menace of street dogs. We all know PETA will not utter a word on it and on issue of stray dogs biting people including children. These street dogs are extremely dangerous as they are not only not vaccinated but also since they are not well fed and not taken care of, they are likely to be mote violent and have more chances to spread and cause diseases.
It is not practically possible & feasible to vaccinate these dogs and keep them at any safe place, feed them or pet them. Their menace is much more dangerous than cows, cats etc as they have been taking lives. The only solution is mass kiIIing of these dogs and or sterilisation drive so that they don’t multiply and harm humans.”
Anotrher user wrote, “Not only kids even #Baghbakri chaai scion died as he fell had brain haemhorrage while trying to escape street dogs
If only ppl could realize menace.”
“Repeat after me, Indian roads are not meant for walking. Anything could happen. A few days back saw the horrendous Mangalore video, today the Bagh Bakri news. Terrible,” commented another user on X.
