The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to name Swati Maliwal as the next Delhi Commission for Women Chief. Maliwal is currently advisor (grievances) to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Maliwal is also the youngest member of the India Against Corruption movement along with being an RTI activist. She was a software engineer before she quit her job to take up social work.

She will be replacing Barkha Shukla as the DCW chief, with whom AAP has had a tense relationship in the recent past.

Maliwal is AAP party leader Naveen Jaihind’s wife and has been associated with Kejriwal’s work at ‘Parivartan’ since 2006.
