The Netherlands never looked comfortable in their run chase and eventually bowled out for 250 in 47.5 overs. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja shared two wickets each while Kohli and Sharma dismissed one batter each.

But this did not stop the supporters of Kohli and Sharma from attacking each other on social media. What fuelled the tension between the two groups was Wasim Akram’s praise for Sharma. Speaking on a Pakistani TV channel, Akram said that while everyone spoke about Emperor Kohli, Kane Williamson, Joe Root and Babar Azam, but Rohit Sharma made batting look easy.

This was India’s ninth straight win in the World Cup, the longest winning streak in a World Cup by any Indian skipper. If India manage to win the World Cup, Rohit Sharma-led side will equal the 11-match winning streak in a World Cup by Australia in 2003 and 2007.
