BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has said that former India skipper Mahenra Singh Dhoni was not charging any fees for his new role as the mentor of the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
“MS Dhoni is not charging any honorarium for his services as the mentor of Indian team for the T20 World Cup,” BCCI Secretary Jay Shah was quoted by news agency ANI.
The Indian cricket board had announced Dhoni’s name as the mentor of the national team for the T20 World Cup. Dhoni is expected to work alingside head coach Ravi Shastri and skipper Virat Kohli during the competition.
Dhoni is currently leading his IPL side, Chennai Super Kings, taking them to the final, which will be played in the UAE on 15 October.
Dhoni had announced his retirement from international cricket last year.
