In an embarrassment for the BJP, a video of farmers being run over by a car in Lakhimpur Kheri has emerged. Although Janta Ka Reporter can’t verify the authenticity of the video, it’s said to be from Lakhimpur Kheri, where eight people including four farmers were killed recently. It’s said that Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son was in the car that killed farmers.
Reacting to the video, BJP MP Varun Gandhi tweeted, “This video of farmers being mowed down deliberately in Lakhimpur Kheri would shake the conscience of anyone. The police must immediately take note of this video and arrest everyone including the owner of the vehicle, those sitting inside and other involved.”

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra too shared the video and tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ask why the man the person in the car had not been arrested yet. She also reminded Modi how the BJP police had kept her under detention for 28 hours.

The BJP is facing widespread condemnation after many farmers were killed in Lakhimpur Kheri recently. The violence started when a group of farmers in Tikonia area of Lakhimpur Kheri tried to stop Union Minister Mishra and UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya from visiting the region.
Also crushed under the car was 35-year-old journalist Raman Kashyap. His body was discovered many hours after the carnage.
Mishra had in the past threatened to teach protesting farmers a lesson by announcing that it would take him just a few minutes to make farmers fall in line.
