Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that his party would make Uttarakhand a global ‘spiritual capital’ for Hindus if the Aam Aadmi Party is voted to power in the next assembly polls.

Kejriwal, who was in Uttarakhand to announce Colonel (retired) Ajay Kothiyal as the AAP’s chief minister face, said, “Friends, Uttarakhand is known as Devbhumi. There are so many pilgrimages for Hindus here. Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Rishikesh, Haridwar.”

Kejriwal also invoked Pakistan in his speech to take a leaf out of the BJP’s book as he said that Kothiyal was fighting Pakistan when ‘corrupt politicians were looting Uttarakhand.’

“Ajay Kothiyal sahab is the same man, who served the nation by being in the armed forces. He risked his life to face Pakistan. He faced the enemies of this nation.”

Kejriwal has often faced flak for allegedly working on the secret Hindutva agenda. Not too long ago, he faced widespread condemnation for remaining silent when a group of Hindutva terrorists issued an open call for the genocide of Muslims in the heart of Delhi. His social media trolls targeted Muslims journalists and activists for asking Kejriwal to break his silence on the genocidal calls against Muslims.

With the assembly elections in Uttarakhand around the corner, Kejriwal appears to have decided to emulate the Hindutva agenda of the BJP. Kejriwal not seeking votes in the name of development or fighting corruption and wooing Hindus in the name of their faith and Pakistan shows that the AAP leader has realised that substantial to offer to electorates other than copying the divisive agenda of the BJP.
