Political strategist Prashant Kishor’s reported meeting with Sharad Pawar in Mumbai has triggered speculations in light of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.
A report by news agency PTI said that the meeting between Kishor and Pawar lasted for nearly three hours. This was Kishor’s first meeting with the Nationalist Congress Party chief. Also present in the meeting with Supriya Sule and Rohit Pawar.
Kishor was recently instrumental in scripting election victories for the Trinamool Congress in Bengal and the DMK in Tamil Nadu. While the Trinamool was directly pitted against the BJP in Bengal, the DMK-led alliance had fought the elections against the AIADMK alliance, which also included the BJP.
The meeting between Kishor and Pawar comes just days after Thackeray called on PM Modi in Delhi. Thackeray had not divulged the details of his meeting with Modi.
Interestingly, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Friday had praised PM Modi saying that ‘the BJP owes its success to Narendra Modi in the last seven years and currently he is the top leader of the country and his party.’
