BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Sunday added a new mutant variety to refer to a special group of supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier, the outspoken parliamentarian had referred to Modi supporters as ‘Andhbhakts and Gandhbahkts.’ Swamy’s latest attack against Modi supporters came after a report claimed that Bharat Biotech had ramped up Covaxin’s capacity to 70 crore per annum.
Swamy wrote on Twitter, “When earlier I tweeted that Bharat Biotech was planning to produce 70 crores, ABs, GBs [and its mutation AG] screamed that is was false. Now? These ABs and GB have run to the nearest city sewer to hide.”
He had earlier explained what he meant by the mutant version AG used for another group of Modi supporters. He had said, “AG mutated version of Andhgandh.”
Swamy had taken a dig at the supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, popularly known as bhakts, by asking them if their leader should be held responsible for the current surge in the pandemic in the country. “When the Coronavirus Pandemic cases were running at 100,000 daily mid-April 2020 and fell to 10, 000 by November. who was given the credit by Andhbhakts and Gandhbahkts? Now have the cases risen again to 100, 000 again? Then who will now claim credit?” Swamy had asked.
Andhbhakts are used for blind supporters of PM Modi, while the use of gandhbhakts was to imply that not only are they illiterate but they also stink.”
Since then, India has seen an alarming increase in the pandemic across the country with Delhi and Maharashtra bearing the maximum brunt. Delhi recorded nearly 350 deaths within a span of 24 hours on Saturday, the highest single-day number. What has landed both Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi and the Centre in utter embarrassment is that scores have been forced to die due to the non-availability of oxygen.
At least 25 patients lost their lives at a hospital in Rohini on Saturday after it ran out of oxygen supply.
