Contrary to earlier media reports, Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan will make her Bollywood debut with her film Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the film has been mired in several controversies ever since its shooting began.
Due to the uncertainty looming over Kedarnath’s shooting schedule, Sara had gone on to sign her second film Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. This had irked Kapoor, who sued Sara for Rs 5 crore. It had taken Saif’s prompt intervention to resolve the issue amicably.
Later, it emerged that Kedarnath may not be able to release on schedule, thereby giving rise to speculations that Simmba may become Sara’s debut film. But when the first poster of Kedarnath was out on Monday, it became clear that Sara was all set to make her mark in Bollywood with Abhishek Kapoor’s film, which hits cinemas on 7 December. Simmba, on the other hand, will release on 28 December.
In the film poster, Sara is seen being carried in a wicker basket by Sushant on his back. Sushant is playing the role of a helper to the pilgrims in the film.
However, what has caused a real sensation is the official teaser of Kedarnath. The teaser appears to brilliantly capture the devastation caused by the natural calamity in Kedarnath in 2003. In one scene, Sara is seen intensely lip-locked with Sushant, her helper, while in several other scenes, the lead male protagonist is seen rescuing her from nature’s fury.
Sara took to Instagram to express her feelings on the teaser release. She wrote, “Feeling blessed and excited…much like in this photo ????Kedarnath Teaser out now!”
Sara’s kissing scene in her debut film shows the bold nature of modern day actors in the Hindi film industry. Unlike their parents, these star children are not held up by any prevalent sense of inhibitions and prepared to play their characters to add realism on screen. Not too long ago, Janhvi Kapoor, Sridevi’s daughter, too had recorded a kissing scene in her debut film Dhadak.
