The monsoon downpours have wreaked havoc in Delhi and its adjoining areas in Noida and Ghaziabad as the incessant rains caused water-logging across the region. The traffic in particular cam to standstill in several key parts of the national capital region.

One of its tweets on Thursday morning said, “Traffic is affected at SDM office Pushta Road, Raja Ram Kohli Marg from Geeta Colony to Pushta Road, Suraj Kund to Prahlad Pur & Mayur Vihar Ph-II Subway, Slip Road due to water logging. Kindly avoid these stretches.”
In Noida, roads across Sector 37, Sector 18, Botanical Garden and roads connecting the Delhi-Noida Expressway in Sector 93 experienced long congestion during the peak time on Thursday morning. The faulty traffic signals at several junctions also contributed to commuters’ woes.
In neighbouring Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, a huge part of a road near Vartalok Society in Vasundhara caved in creating a massive sink hole. This has seriously endangered the safety of hundreds of flat residents in the nearby housing society. At least 64 flat owners have been advised to immediately vacate their flats and move to safer places. There are 324 flats in the society.

One of the biggest issues affecting commuters on Thursday morning was the availability of public transports. Some of the commuters chose to get down from the cars and other modes of transports to walk after being stuck for long on these roads, reported News18.

News agency ANI tweeted a video of a newly constructed Raj Nagar Extension Elevated Road in Ghaziabad, which was heavily waterlogged due to heavy rains in the region.
